School rowing tournaments at Holy Rosary School served as a stepping stone for Hannah Roeteger and Jeanne Riemann, as they have achieved greatness in their rowing careers post-matric.
It laid the foundation for the dedication and discipline that they have built on, as they continued rowing at university.
Hannah Roetger and Jeanne Riemann both earned scholarships to row and study at top universities in the USA.
We’re proud to let you know how well they’re doing in international rowing.
Hannah Roetger - Rutgers University
Hannah Roetger, who matriculated in the Class of 2024, was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in women’s rowing.
This is a prestigious postseason honour recognising the conference’s top first-year athletes.
Selected by the top elite head coaches in the US, it highlights standout performances both throughout the season and at the Big Ten Championships.
Hannah’s selection is particularly noteworthy, given that there are approximately 250 to 300 active freshman rowers across the Big Ten program each season.
According to Rutger University Athletics, she also:
- Won the opening heat with the Varsity 4 at the 2026 Big Ten Championships
- Captured silver with the Varsity 4 at the 2026 Big Ten Championships
- Tied for highest ever finish by a Rutgers boat, to come 4th in Grand Final with the Varsity 4 at the 2026 NCAA Championships Big Ten All-Freshman Team
Hannah is also a Dean’s List Student.
Jeanne Riemann - Alabama University
Jeanne Riemann, who matriculated in the Class of 2023, has been selected for the U23 South African Rowing Team, competing in Duisberg, Germany, on 23-26 July 2026.
She has also been chosen to be one of the safeguarding officers for the SA U23 and U19 teams.

Jeanne has continued to excel in her rowing scholarship at the University of Alabama:
- A rowing captain at the university and head coach of Bama United
- Presidential candidate of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. The official president of the committee will be announced in late July/ August.
- Competed in the First Varsity Eight and across the US with the highest ranking of program history, coming 13th out of 89 Division 1 rowing universities.
She not only excels in rowing, but also academically. Jeanne recently earned a spot on the South Eastern Conference Academic Honour Roll.
Jeanne is studying Aerospace Engineering.
